Donations
Is my donation eligible for tax deductions?
Lions Home For The Elders is an Institution of a Public Character (IPC) and all outright donations of $50 and above are eligible for 2.5 times tax deduction.
How do I claim tax deduction for my donation?
The details of your donation will be submitted directly to the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) by Lions Home and the donation deductions will be included automatically in your individual/corporate tax assessment.

How do I know which year of assessment is my tax-deductible donation eligible for?
Your donation and personal details should reach us by 31 December so that it can be included in the tax assessment on the prevailing year.
For example, donations received by 31 December 2023 will be eligible for tax assessment for the Year of Assessment 2024.
How can I set up a monthly recurring donation?
You can set up a monthly recurring donation via the below methods:
- Giving.sg platform
- Setting up standing instruction with the bank that you bank with.

How do I terminate my monthly recurring donation?
Depending on your mode of donation, you can terminate your recurring donation via the below methods:
- Contact the Giving.sg platform directly.
- Contact the bank directly to terminate your standing instruction.
- If you have sent in the donation form previously, please contact us at lhe.pr@lionshome.org.sg with your request.
How do I know if my donation made via debit/credit card is successful?
You should receive an auto-generated receipt if your donation is successful.
What should I do if the expiry date for my default debit/credit card is nearing?
If the bank has issued a new debit/credit card, there is no action is required from your end. The bank will update your recurring donation arrangement with your updated card details.
Are my donation transactions on your website secure?
Yes. We have partnered with a third-party payment gateway to ensure safe and secure payments for our donors. Your personal details (including debit/credit card details) are kept with the highest confidentiality and will only be used to process your donation.

Will I receive a receipt upon donation?
If your email address is provided at the point of your donation, we will email you the receipt within two weeks of the donation date.
If you require us to resend the receipt either by email or by post, please inform us via lhe.pr@lionshome.org.sg with your donation details.
Can I donate anonymously?
Yes, you can indicate your preference to remain anonymous.
Is there a minimum donation amount?
No, there is no minimum donation amount.
Can I make in-kind donations?
Do visit our website for our wish list items. However, in-kind donations are not eligible for tax deductions.

Is my fundraising campaign eligible for tax deductions?
Yes, all donations above $50 are eligible for tax deductions. Do send us a list of the donor details upon the conclusion of your fundraising campaign in order for us to process the tax deduction.
How old do I need to be to start a campaign?
You need to be at least 21 years old to start a fundraiser. If you are below 21, do obtain parental consent and have your parent/guardian fill out the fundraising application form on your behalf.
