Life in long-term residential care can be very different from the life many seniors once knew. Limited mobility and health challenges mean residents often need assistance with most aspects of daily living and can no longer live safely on their own without support and supervision.
At Lions Home For The Elders, we believe care goes beyond meeting medical and physical needs. We try our best to create a feeling of home away from home, where our seniors stay active, engaged, and connected.
Through Moments Beyond Home, we strive to bring meaningful opportunities including outings beyond the home that help seniors reconnect with the world around them.
For Mdm Lee, 73, a special outing to Tiong Bahru Market was a trip she had been looking forward to all week. “Going to the market made me very happy. It reminds me of when I used to go out and buy things on my own,” she said.
Moments like these may seem simple, but for many of our residents, they mean the world.
Your donation helps to defray the cost of organising these special outings for our residents. At the same time, it will also help to cover other daily expenditure, such as transportation for hospital visits, and even items such as providing new clothes and shoes.
